Burslem is one of the six towns and is often referred to as the mother town in Stoke on Trent. Historically known for its pottery industry Burslem is emerging as a centre for small, freelance creative businesses working in sectors such as fine art, animation and crafts as well as pottery. There are many historical buildings including Burslem School of Art and The Old Town Hall built in 1854 which continue to attract tourist. Burslem Park was opened in 1894 and designed by Thomas Hayton Mawson displaying its beautiful water features and Band stand. In the heart of this town is Port Vale FC and provides much more than just football. It places great value on its community and offers multiple activities that bring together the wider community.
